Chiropractic

Chiropractic care focuses on the nervous system. Our nervous systems control and coordinate all of the functions of all of the systems of the body: respiratory, digestive, circulatory, etc. Any aspect of health can be impaired by nerve interference. Chiropractors check the spine for misalignments, or subluxations, that cause nerve interference. We look to the spine and cranial bones because they protect the spinal cord, which carries information from the body to the brain and back again. Subluxations impair the ability to transmit this information. Chiropractic adjustments help free these restrictions and help restore the nervous system, allowing the body to express a greater state of health.

In additional to traditional chiropractic therapies, we also offer Decompression Therapy and Laser Therapy to assist in pain management.

Chiropractic for Kids

Parents often wonder why their child would need chiropractic care or at what age it would be appropriate. The truth is, more and more parents are seeking chiropractic care for their children as early as infancy and having them routinely checked throughout childhood. Many spinal problems found in adults began as early as birth. Even the “easiest” most straightforward of births can stress a baby’s spine and nervous system. These stresses can result in spinal and cranial misalignments, or subluxations, which can lead to nursing difficulties, colic, constipation, and sleep issues (to name a few). As the child grows, it is important to have them checked by a chiropractor because learning to roll, crawl and walk all affect spinal alignment.

Throughout childhood, as children become even more active; learning to ride a bike or play a sport, small misalignments can occur. Since this is a time of such rapid growth and change, if left unchecked, these subtle misalignments can affect future spinal development and impair the nervous system. Any nervous system impairment can affect the body’s ability to function optimally. Parents often have their children checked after injuries and larger traumas and to help with things like earaches, asthma and headaches. Or chiropractors utilize gentle, safe chiropractic and craniosacral techniques to work with children of all ages.

Chiropractic in Pregnancy

Pregnancy is an important time to maintain spinal health and alignment. In pregnancy, the uterus, muscles, ligaments and bones of a woman’s body all have to work together to ensure proper alignment for a healthy birth. Abnormal tension in the muscles, fascia or ligaments surrounding the uterus results in uneven forces applied to the baby’s surroundings. The baby must then accommodate to the space available, no matter how cramped or distorted. Chiropractic care and Craniosacral Therapy (CST) throughout pregnancy helps to restore balance to the muscles and bones of the body. This can help create a more comfortable pregnancy for both mom and baby.
